The Board of Directors of EMPA, The European Maritime Pilots’ Association, has appointed Ms. Aileen Van Raemdonck as the Association’s new Secretary General.
Ms. Van Raemdonck has for the past years been engaged as European Policy Advisor by EMPA’s member association Brabo Harbour Pilots in Antwerp, a position that she will continue to fulfill on a part-time basis after her new appointment. Before taking her position at Brabo, she has been working for five years in different positions such as Researcher, Accredited Parliamentary
Assistant and Legal Affairs Committee Policy Advisor’s Assistant in the European Parliament.
Aileen Van Raemdonck has a Master’s Degree in Law, specialized in European and International law from the University of Antwerp.
“The Board of EMPA recognizes her strong expertise and experience in European port policy matters, and appreciates the insight into the pilotage profession that she will bring with her. We
warmly welcome Ms. Van Raemdonck aboard and look forward to the future cooperation with her”, commented EMPA President Capt. Stein Inge Dahn.
